The new album, The Morning After has been sent off to
be pressed and should be released sometime in December. Check back
for more info. Album cover is pictured on the right.
7-11-06 T-minus Band has been invited to perform at the Atlantis
Music Conference in Atlanta, Georgia. Atlantis will also
include the T-minus Band song "Two Bit" on a compilation
CD. We will be playing at The
585 at 10 pm on Thursday, October 5th.
Also,
for those of you anticipating the new T-minus Band album called
The Morning After below is a song from that upcoming
release. The song is called "If It Ever Was At All" and
features some great vocals by Tanya West of Trees
With Bells.
Click
here to download "If It Ever Was At All". (Right-click
and choose "save target as" or "save link as"
or something similar. Or just go to the T-minus
Band MySpace page and it'll start playing.)

The new T-minus Band album is finished! It's called The
Morning After. Now I just have to get some artwork and then
release it. Not sure how long that will take. Not planning on doing
any shows this summer but that could change. Also, I don't think
it's that interesting but click
here to read the first installment of the SXSW diary.
5-12-06 The new album (I still think in terms of albums) is
for real almost finished and I think it will be done by the end
of next week. I don't have artwork yet so if any of you artists
out there want to submit artwork you can email me. I have to give
props to my old stomping ground, T-town (aka Tuscaloosa) for giving
T-minus Band some press. Here
is an article from before we went out to Austin and it was
written by a nice guy originally from Canada named Ryan Hickman.
The Canadians have always been good to T-minus Band and it was pleasant
getting to know Ryan when he came over one day for the interview.
And while I really can't bear to listen to myself talk (in a recording
that is) perhaps you want to hear an interview I did with WUAL
which happens to be a great NPR station. The show is podcast only
but they used T-minus Band music in the first 5 shows and then did
the
interview/story which you can find here. I've had some people
write me and ask what gives with the SXSW diary and I promise a
first installment this week as well. - T
4-12-06 We had a great time at SXSW and I'm going to try and
get some pictures up from the trip soon. The response to our show
was overwhelmingly positive and I'd like to give out a special thanks
to all the hometown people from here in Birmingham who came out
to support us. I've been very busy finishing the mixing on the new
album and I'm happy to say it's pretty much finished and it sounds
great. Hopefully next week I'll get those pictures up and maybe
a song of the new album as well. I'm also trying to finish a SXSW
diary. - T

Our SXSW
showcase is on Thursday, March 16th at Karma
Lounge in Austin at 8pm.
Trees
With Bells has been added to the show at the Nick on Friday,

2-22-06 The new Ferocious Bubbles CD entitled Save Yourself
and Run Away recorded and co-produced by Troy T will be released
at Sakura in Birmingham on Sunday, February 26th. Show starts around
10 or so. You
can check Ferocious Bubbles out here.

The
latest news is that we have been invited to play SXSW
this year but we don't know the date or time yet. We're planning
on going for the whole week though. We also have a show on Friday,
March 10th at The
Nick but I'm not sure who else is playing that night. I
also put some pictures up from the fall and plan on making that
an entire section of photos eventually. Right now, you can see
our trip to the South Park Music Festival or the show
we did at Egan's in Tuscaloosa back in September. - T

Happy New Year
Hope you all have a great new year and we hope we have a great
new year too. I don't have any shows booked right now but have a
couple of things stirring in the pot, so to speak. Have also been
working on mixing the new album which is taking some time as I'm
trying to get a 100 thousand dollar sound from a 2 thousand dollar
studio set-up and I end up spending 5 hours on little things that
most of you probably wouldn't notice. That's what happens when you
are a perfectionist though. I also still want to overhaul this site
and I have some new pictures to add so hopefully I'll get that done
soon (fingers crossed)... T

Show
- November 24, 2005 Thanksgiving Night Show at The Nick, Birmingham,
Alabama
This
night is usually a fun night as there are a lot of people back in
town for the holiday. Most of them want to get out of the house
after a spending the day consuming food with the fam. T-minus Band
will play 2 sets and based on our recent show at Egans in Tuscaloosa,
T-minus Band might be best with 2 sets. So we're looking forward
to this show and hope to see you there.

T-shirts
Yes,
due to the constant "when are you guys getting T-shirts?"
question we finally have a T-shirt and you can order them right
here.
We're
also finishing up the new album and we're excited about it.
Check
back soon for pictures from our trip to Colorado and the show at
Egans.

Details below:

11 PM Delicate Cutters
12 Midnight T-minus Band
This is the
Thursday night before Labor Day weekend, so get your vacation started
early with us at the Nick.
10 PM R-Tist
will kick off the show and if you haven't seen him you should. In
case you aren't familiar with R-Tist and his music, you can go here
to listen to a song and hear an interview:
his song "Community
(Come Unity)" is also featured on the Skybucket compilation
"Low
Dose Exposure"
11PM Delicate
Cutters haven't played in a few months and have been busy recording
a new album. Delicate Cutters is a project led by Janet Simpson
of Teen Getaway and she has a most wonderful voice. Other members
of the band include Pete of Ferocious Bubbles/Trees With Bells,
Brian from The Maisleys and Chance the drummer who when not rocking
out makes horror movies.*
12 Midnight
T-minus Band email me if you have a certain T-minus Band song
you'd like to hear and we'll see what we can do.
One thing I
cannot emphasize more about this show at the Nick is that it really
will start at 10 PM. So come early and see all the bands.
*Chance's movie
"Hide and Creep" was a big hit at the Sidewalk Film Festival
and there is a tie-in with T-minus Band in that our song "Under
the Radar Screen" is featured in the trailer for "Hide
and Creep" and you
can see this really cool trailer here.
T-minus Band
at the South Park Music Festival, Friday, September 9th.
T-minus Band
was accepted to play the South Park Music Festival in South
Park Colorado. This looks like it's going to be a lot of fun so
if anyone wants to plan a fun vacation to the mountains come on
out with us! The festival is free to the public and there is free
camping. For
more information on the festival go here.
T-minus Band
is scheduled to play at 11PM on Friday, September 9th at the Fairplay
Hotel.
T-minus Band
at Egan's, Tuscaloosa, Friday, September 23rd
We've always
wanted to play Egan's and what better time to play than the night
before the first home SEC game in Tuscaloosa this year. The Arkansas
Razorbacks will be in town, and since the show is on Friday night
before the game everyone will still be in great spirits. We're going
to do 2 sets at this show and it is free because "there's never
a cover at Egan's". This is going to be a lot of fun so try
to come out to this one. If you don't know where Egan's is, just
go to the Strip area of Tuscaloosa (right by the campus of the University
of Alabama) and ask someone. It would be impossible not to find
it.
7-5-05
Thanks
to all of you who came out to the show on the 1st. We had a really
good time and special thanks to Trees With Bells and Vesper for
playing with us. We're looking at booking some shows in the fall
and one thing we might try is an "unplugged" type show
at Rojo where we can play some songs that don't get played at the
"rock" shows we normally play. I'll post more details
as they develop. We are also going to get back to work on finishing
the new album as we took a break from that to rehearse for the live
performance.
We received some press/exposure for the show on July 1st that some
of you may have missed and might be interested in. Black and White
did an interview
with Troy T and the Birmingham Weekly did an article
on the band. There was also a radio interview/feature on the
local NPR affiliate here in Birmingham, WBHM that was part of their
weekly art series called Tapestry. Go
here to listen to the archived Interview/feature. If these links
become broken you can also find these interviews in the reviews
section.

4-7-05
Well I promised an update and here it is. Work on the new T-minus
Band album/CD is going well. As I mentioned before this album will
be a departure in that it is being recorded by a full band instead
of by one person. And it's going better than anticipated. We've
recorded 16 tracks so far but want to get up to 20 before we discard
around 6. About half of the 16 tracks are close to being completed
and the other half are in various stages of production.
I can't say much about it now but I think we may start booking shows
again hopefully starting this summer. Keep an eye out for updates
on that.
On another note, I recently jumped on the myspace bandwagon (no
pun intended) and it's been entertaining. Like all internet fads
though, the thrill is diminishing. But, if you are on myspace and
want to add us as your friend then go here for our
profile.
O.K. That's it for now.

1-20-05
It's been some time since an update. There's been some problems
with our hosting but soon those issues will (hopefully) all be resolved.
Work has begun on a new T-minus Band CD/Album and it will be a departure
from the two previous releases in that this time it is being recorded
by a true band instead of all by Troy T. The recording is again
taking place in Troy T's home studio and after demo-ing several
songs the first keeper tracks were laid down just this week. The
project will take a while to complete but look for a new T-minus
Band release this year.
For now, no
shows are planned as recording is the main priority.
Since it's been
so long since an update, here are a couple of things that might
be of interest even though they are a little late in mentioning:
The song "Under
the Radar Screen" from the Four Legs to Three CD was
used in a trailer for a great little indie movie made right here
in Alabama. The movie is a horror/zombie flick called "Hide
and Creep" and you should really check it out. To
see this awesome trailer, click here.
Added an "About" section to the
site.
Click on the "Music Fit for Kings" on the left. It's amusing.
Someone forwarded
this press clipping to me from The Huntsville Times:

New music
I don't know if you have been to CD Baby (www.cdbaby.com)
since I wrote about it a few months ago, but it is well worth a
visit. It's the most productive way on the Web to discover new independent
music. And speaking of CDs, baby, I was recently cruising the site,
searching for cool music by state, and the state I chose was - of
course - Iowa. Just kidding - I was cruising Alabama when I discovered
a gold mine: "Technostalgia," by the T-Minus Band, a one-man
"band" created by Birmingham's own Troy T, a veteran of
several regional bands who grew tired of the rock 'n' roll rat race
and retreated to his studio, emerging with the most interestingly
disparate collection of lush, dreamy future-retro pop I've heard
in some time. Check out "Elusive," a whimsical tune that
McCartney must have heard once in a dream. Troy T is one to watch!
Ok, that's it for the update and once I get the hosting situation
ironed out I promise the updates will come more often.

of the showtime but as Cave 9 is an all-ages venue I think their
shows get started around 7pm. Copies of Low Dose Exposure
will be available at the show.
Thanks to all
who came out to the show at Sakura on July 25th. The turnout was
great and it was a fantastic show. A recording was made of the show

CD RELEASE: There will be a special Four Legs to Three CD release
show on Monday, May 19 at the Bombshelter, located in an unmarked
building behind Mike's Pawn shop between 1st and 2nd Avenue North
and 24th Street in downtown Birmingham. This will be an early show
(9 PM) and T-minus Band will be the only band to play. For more
information email.

CD release details coming soon. On another note, about two weeks
ago we put 3 songs from the "Technostalgia" CD on garageband.com
and were fairly amused when two of the songs shot up the charts
to relatively high rankings. On Tuesday the 22nd, "2084"
will be the "Alternative Song of the Day" on garageband.com.
It's currently ranked at 75 on the alternative charts. So, if you
want to keep up with T-minus Band on garageband.com thenclick
on the nifty icon below.

To counter this
amazing news please read a message
that was received from a fellow garageband.com user.

T-minus Band will be opening for Crooked
Fingers at the Chukker
in Tuscaloosa on Thursday, March 27. We are the first on this three
act bill. The second band is fellow Birminghamians 1945.

Four Legs to Three, the new CD by T-minus Band has been sent
off to be pressed! It should be available within 6 weeks. Click
on the picture to the right to get a better look at the cover. I'm
planning a CD release party at ROJO, the coolest new place to eat
and drink in town. There will probably be another accoustic performance
at the release party. If you are interested in attending, email
me.
3-7-03
Finally finished recording the Nowhere Squares new album, Girls
Who Work Alone. It sounds great and promises to be one of the
best releases this year for a Birmingham band. Check out their site
here
for more information and to download some of the tracks.
3-1-03
Birmingham's own Skybucket Records has requested a T-minus Band
Song for an upcoming compilation CD. Their first compilation called
"here's to last summer" was a great sampling of Birmingham
bands. Keep an eye out for more info on this and feel free to check
out their site here.
2-15-03
The accoustic show at the Chukker
went well and we did an hour long interview at WVUA.
I'm still waiting to get a recording of the show from one of the
radio guys who recorded it. If I ever get it I'll put an mp3 or
two up.
1-26-03
The only radio show that I listen to on a regular basis is the Paul
Finebaum Show, a sports talk show that features discussion of
college football, particularly Alabama Crimson Tide football: 4
hours a day, five days a week, 365 days a year. That's almost (but
not quite) enough 'Bama football talk for me. So, it was a personal
honor last week when the producer, Pat Smith, chose to play Legacy
as an intro to a segment of the show. Not only that, the segment
was about Coach Bryant, who passed away 20 years ago today (sad
to say). For most people in the world, this probably isn't very
impressive or notable. As for me, I can't help but feel humbled.
So, in honor of two great men who made an enormous impact on Alabama
(where I live) and beyond, feel free to download in its entirety,
Legacy, from the Technostalgia
CD. In case you are interested check out the lyrics.
1-21-03
Yep, it's the new year and time for a much needed update. There
will be a short show on Feb. 8 at The Chukker in Tuscaloosa at a
fundraiser for WVUA,
the college radio for the University of Alabama. This show will
be an "unplugged" performance so it won't exactly rock
but being that I love the Tuscaloosa, The
Chukker and WVUA, and have had a good bit of history with all
three I jumped at the chance to participate. On another note, Four
Legs to Three won't be released until March. I'm planning
a CD release party at ROJO, the coolest new place to eat and drink
in town. There will probably be another accoustic performance at
the release party. If you are interested in attending, email me.
12-11-02
Here are two more songs from the upcoming Four Legs to Three
CD. Grab Under
the Radar Screen and Fort
and as requested lyrics can be found here.
My mp3 encoder makes the mp3s sound a little hot but oh well...
12-06-02
As promised, here is one of the songs from Four Legs to Three
for your pre-release listening pleasure. It is called "Voices
Fallen". Keep in mind that like Technostalgia, one song
is not representative of all the songs, except that it is T-minus
Band. Download "Voices
Fallen" here. Also, if you want a promo picture that makes
a nice wallpaper then click here.
11.20.02
The new CD is almost finished. Just a few more tweaks and the music
will be done. The title will be Four Legs to Three
and I'm working on the getting the artwork together now. On another
note, due to requests I've added a lyrics
section to the site so check it out if you want.
10.21.02
Quick update: Almost finished recording the new album/CD. Should
have the recording done by the end of the month. Next will be artwork
and pressing which will take some more time. Anyway, I'll put up
an mp3 soon of one of the new songs soon.
9.3.02
OK. Time for an update. I feel guilty for not finishing the new
album yet. It's been a weird summer and I'm not usually very productive
in the summer anyway. I think it's because of the heat. I have over
20 songs in various stages of production. I'll try to complete one
soon and post it just to put out something new. Check back later.
The Etc page is updated including a couple
of links to some mp3s of some other Birmingham bands.
7.29.02
I am very pleased to announce that the final version of the video
for the song "2084" is complete and available for your
downloading pleasure. Let me take this space to express many
thanks to the man who created this video, Paul Painter. He did an
incredible job and the video is amazing. Trust me, I'm not using
the words 'incredible' and 'amazing' lightly. Paul has truly achieved
what video should do - create a whole new dimension to the original
song and makes it better. So head on over to the downloads section
to download the video or just click here.

Check out this T-minus Band interview in fleabomb.com.
Fleabomb is a cool website that has been a nice addition to the
Birmingham 'scene'. It promotes art and music and has some interesting
commentary as well. Check it out here.
The Nowhere
Squares are currently on tour. They've taken a special E.P.
called Working Class Girls to sell on tour that contains
4 of the songs we've recorded for their upcoming album. Check out
one of the songs here.

Check out this letter from Hugh Sunday who does a popular morning
show on Bfm,
a radio station in Auckland, New Zealand. I did a little research
and found that Auckland is the largest city in New Zealand and has
a little over a million people in a country that has a total of
3.9 million people living there. Hugh's show is cool and you can
listen to it on the net here.
They can say all sorts of things you won't here in this country.
Anyways, I'm not trying to make a huge deal out of this so here's
the letter:
Hi Troy,
thanks for the CD and your letter, and it's good to have you
listening to bFM! I don't know what time of the day you listen,
but if
you've been listening during breakfast you may of heard yourself?!
I like
your CD, particularly Take the ride and a couple of other ones that
I
haven't work out which one they are yet! (I normally listen all
the way
through and don't remember the numbers! Anyway thanks again and
know that
you are being played in New Zealand, let me know how things go and
maybe we
can get you on the phone one morning....

Summer is here and it's hot. Work on the Nowhere
Squares album is moving right along. Technostalgia was
featured in a fan-zine in Britain called Leicester Bangs. They don't
have a website but you can see the review here.
They also included "Take the Ride" on a CD that came with
the 'zine. Work on the new T-minus Band CD has not really started
yet, just a bunch of demos so far. Also, on this recording I'll
have some help from the others make up the live version of T-minus
Band. Rehearsing for a first show possibly at the end of the summer.

Technostalgia reviewed by www.erasingclouds.com.
Go check out the review here.
Recording with the Nowhere Squares (see below) went well and we're
shooting for having their record done by July. Rehearsals with the
band component of T-minus Band are going well and we will be working
on the new CD a lot after this week.

Oh how time flies. This site is not dead. There is much going on
right now. I'm working on the new T-minus Band CD, have been rehearsing
with what is to be the actual T-minus Band that will play live,
and on the weekend of April 12-14 I'll be recording the new CD for
the Nowhere
Squares. So, in the meantime go to the chat
or download
areas and have some fun...t
